Who Should Not Take Valerian?

What Is The Difference Between Valerian And Melatonin?

While valerian and melatonin have been used alone or together to enhance sleep, they have differences:

  • Source: Valerian comes from the plant Valeriana officinalis, and it is processed into a standardized extract to produce tincture, capsules, and tablets. Melatonin occurs naturally in the human body as a sleep-regulating hormone produced by the pineal gland in the brain. It is also produced commercially as a supplement.
